Recognized Credentials
All harvested and forgaged edibles are screened for quality and assured by Thomas Patterson. Tom holds degrees from Pennsylvania State University, College of Agricultural Sciences in Horticulture, Mushroom Science and Technology, and Plant Pathology. Before produce is delivered to our customers, Tom is responsible for issuing the 100% Certified Wild Seal.
100% Certified Wild Seal
We use this seal to verify that organic standards have been satisfied completely, and to assure the high quality of our edibles before delivery to the customer.
Our seal is NOT a recognized seal by any State, Federal, or other United States governing body. This seal is not intended to deceive or mislead anyone.
State and National Certification
Currently there is no federal goverment body that certifies or licenses individuals regarding the safety of foraged edibles. As most wild edibles are regional and seasonal, any available certification is on the state level. Where some states do offer certification programs for foraging of wild edible species, Pennsylvania currently does not.
To completely ensure the safety of consumers, we believe that wild edibles should only be marketed and made commercially available by licensed individuals who hold the appropriate credentials from Pennsylvania State Departments or recognized licensing institutions. Please contact the PA Department of Agriculture or your local state representative and help us to institute a licensing or certification program.
